G´day Dave. Greetings from Brazil. Because I like Australia very much I have always checked out the news on ABC Australia website. That is when I came across their documentary about you on Australian Story. I find you´ve had an amazing journey and heaps of what was shown struck a cord with me (i.e my relationship with my father, my internal battle).
All the best.

Dairy Farmer Dave
G’day Dave,
I am a dairy farmer www.lonepine.net.au / Real Estate Agent www.hslgloucester.com.au in Regional NSW and I have respected your integrity on many issues over the last four years.
I hope that you are recovering well from your accident and I find your latest blog regarding Human Survival interesting.
It is extremely frustrating for me as a young fourth generational farmer on the one property, the enormous challenges that we are faced with every day.
There is a special connection with the land that only country people can understand. There are amazing opportunities in Australia as well as challenges. A saying of mine is “Don’t get even, just get successful” and that comes with hard work, and a bit of hard work has never killed anyone.
Dave, I have been a long-time supporter of the National Party and I am wondering what your thoughts are on my local member Mr Rob Oakeshott . Our community has been flattened by his disregard in the sense that a large p

I was so saddened to hear the news recently of your accident and immediately visited your site to find out if it was true and to learn the extent of your injuries. Like you said, you will recover from this eventually, it will just take a while. I don't know why these things happen to certain people. You seem to be such a genuinely decent person, who is always trying to do things for other people and now your true friends and family can be there for you. I was able to watch the Australian Story episode on your site and was so moved by the touching comments made by your family and was so happy to see how successful your life has panned out since I first saw you on BB. I wish you a full and speedy recovery Dave. (Email me if you need to employ an experienced personal assistant/carer to look after you!)

Hello Dave, I don't watch BB or DWS so I'm so pleased your story was told on Australian Story. Besides being physically gorgeous you seem to be a beautiful human being despite the prejudice and ignorance you've encountered. I hope you find a partner who deserves you and have the family you wish for - your courage, spirit and intellect would be an asset to any child.

In relation to the Australian Story program - I can't make a comment on being male, gay or a farmer, but I can recognise an exceptional human being. You have an extraordinary spirit that has refused to be crushed in the most adverse of times. I can only hope my children grow up to be as good and honest as you are. I wish you all the very best that life can offer.

Thanks for sharing your Australian story, it meant a lot to me to see someone else having gone through so much of what I went through and still do today. Life is a tough journey but coming across people like you on the way just makes it all that better experience.
I hope also one day to return to the country where i grew up and be me
take care and maintain the spirit

Just saw the rerun on Australian story and identified so much with many aspects of your journey, one in particular struck a chord with meA that being your relationship etc with your father.
My dad was very similar to yours in that he was a tough hardworking man of the land ( I/we grew up in country New Zealand ) and he made his living as a stockman/drover/cattle and sheep station manager and shearer....oh and he was an avid dog handler and owner as well.
I'm the youngest of ten and being the only gay member of my family was tough, being on the end of being excluded, bullied and in many ways growing up alone ( thank god for my mum) and as a result I left home at 14 after my mother passed away and made my way through life on my own.....but!!!! and this is where my story may give you hope as the years went by and I came to know and accept myself I also learned to accept my father as a human being and not just the man who was my father....I did this by asking him about his early childhood and what had happened to him growing up to make him the person he was.....the end result was that 8 years prior to his passing we became closer to each other than even many of my brothers and some have expresed their regret at not achieving this.....I should mention that most of my family these days respects me, but unfortunately there are those who even now cant accept me.....but regarding my Dad at the end there was nothing left unsaid or un resolved and so for both of us, his passing was one of peace and no regrets.
Perhaps you might consider this and it may help bond you even more with your dad so that in truth you will become the "buddies" you mentioned you werent in the Oz story mate.
I truly hope you find the partner you crave my friend as we all need the person who we can count on and be there for one another.
Warmest wishes
Mike M

Hi David, Thanks for sharing your story via "Australian Story". Toowoomba Grammar sounds like many other Grammar schools. I was at Canberra, in the late 70's early 80's. I grew up on a Farm west of Young, and for the past 10 years have found someone to share my life with. I can understand many of the things you have been presented with, and you do stand proud. All the best Noel

I too just watched Aust Story and was moved by your courage and strength. I too have fought inner demons for years as i struggled to accept my sexuality and battling society's views on what is expected. I even married and had kids to please my parents! Thanks so much for allowing us into your life up to this point and I wish you all the luck in the world with your career and more importantly i hope you find that special someone who will love you unconditionally for who you are.
Take care

Hello David,
I just watched Australian Story & just want to say I liked it very much. I'm happy to see that you have a down to earth life, especially working with dogs. I wish you all the best.
One thing I want to mention about this guest book is that you need to have dates for the postings.
Cheers

Hi David
I've been intending to leave you a comment here for ages but you know how life can distract you. Anyway I am loving the new section of the site-
I Love the Dog Training Videos and the bits of information you share... Im still working of Jesse's obsession with consuming paper products - I suspect he is a reincarnated goat! heeheee
you're still a Legend in my eyes sweet!
Keep well

I only wish that you and your story could be known internationally. It's indeed marvellous people like you that slowly, yet surely, change the world's perceptions and opinions. Thankyou for everything that you do!!

I too just saw you on Ready Steady Cook. You're delightful and made for tv!
By comparison, you make Peter Everett's niceness seem even more insincere :)

Hi, just saw you on Ready Steady Cook, thought I would check the web site. Nicely done.
The only downer is from the guest book, full of spam. Perhaps a filter so any email address entered in any thing other than the e-mail field would be deleted. Just a thought.
Cheers :D Karen
