Dave not only grew up with dogs but has been Breeding and Training Working Dogs since being given his first hound 'Elsa', a typical Mongrel Border Collie type from Malcolm McTaggart of the famed stockmen family. It was his unique way with dogs as a toddler that McTaggart saw and entrusted him with his retiring lead bitch. It is this same way with dogs that has led Dave to be able to understand dogs and help people, both on the land with their working dogs, and in the city with companion dogs to reach that fulfilment we all seek from our relationships with canines.

Whilst still continuing his Sheep Breeding Operation in Western Queensland, Dave spent several months managing Dog Central Daycare in Melbourne and was also a Presenter at the 2009 Inaugural World Dog Games at Sydney's Olympic Park. Due to the interest in his techniques and ability as a dog handler Dave moved to Sydney to help people with their Dog Issues and still finds time to keep up with the latest in Positive Reinforcement Training with the Delta Society and volunteers  giving his time and knowledge to the Animal Welfare League of NSW.
