Dog Training News
A tail of two very different relationships
A tail of two very different relationships
Today two news stories broke which both involved children and dogs. One was the sad tale too often told of an unattended loose dog which mauled several family members leaving a toddler dead in the Suburbs of Melbourne, the other of highly trained police detection dogs searching for the remains of Daniel Morcombe in the wetlands of the Sunshine Coast.
It shows the extremes of how we humans are co-existing with this species in very different ways. I often blog, write and speak on the importance of choosing the breed of dog suitable for each family's situation and am always inevitably attacked for suggesting people avoid purpose bred dogs when that purpose is unsuitable and incompatible with their lives.
Rather then harp on about the appropriateness of Pitt Bulls and other breeds in urban areas I will just say how wonderful it is to see mans best friend up on the Sunshine Coast showing the world how wonderful this animal can be with proper socialisation training and employment.
